The Medical Coding Coordinator 1 confirms appropriate diagnosis related group (DRG) assignments. Analyzes, enters and manipulates database. Responds to or clarifies internal requests for medical information. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation. Review claims pended to department for accuracy. Provide recommendations and collaborate with other teams and departments.
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years minimum of coding experience
CPC Medical Coder Certification
1 year minimum of reviewing medical records
Proficiency Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
2+ Years of Claims processing experience
Medicare guidelines experience
Ability to solve complex problems
This position is an in-office position in Tampa, FL, with the possibility of work at home after a minimum of 6 months
Training schedule Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
8 hour shift Mon-Fri with some flexibility after meeting quality and production qualifications
